Car Accident Checklist 
  1. Check to see if anyone is injured. Call 911.
  2. Call the police to create an official accident report. 
  3. Take LOTS of photos. 
  4. Do NOT discuss the accident with other parties.
  5. Do NOT sign anything from the other parties.
  6. Do NOT disclose your policy coverage limits. 
  7. Get the other driver's information:        
    • Driver's name     
    • License plate number     
    • Phone number
    • Driver's license number
    • Home address   
    • Email address
    • Vehicle year/make/model
    • Insurance company
    • Insurance policy number  
    • Insurance company phone number   
    • Names & phone numbers of all passengers
    • Names & phone numbers of any witnesses

  8. Get the police officer's information:  
    • Name
    • Police department   
    • Badge number  
    • Police report number    
    • Phone number

  9. Write down a description of the entire incident:        
    • Time of the accident
    • Location    
    • Weather conditions    
    • Road conditions     
    • Direction each vehicle was traveling

  10. Seek medical attention if you feel ANY pain or discomfort, even if it is mild. Many injuries do not appear until hours or days later.
